Honorable Mention
Sweetest Agony
Jessica

A world of keys, tempest tossing temptress,
searching, among falls and fronds.
Which one?
Ineludable call, more persistent than the Wild.
A key in Eden's apple,
found, freely given; flaming sword
merely a metaphor, bypass beauty.
Icy key, Icarus' power, in midflight,
catch it as key curves, tumbles
(so did Icarus).
There are keys
Which one?
among the hills of
Ithaca, one golden key
ripe hued as homeland's wheat.
Gleaming, softly luring with a Siren's song
one pearl, perfect and pristine: a key.
Sensuous silk, whisper on gilded cushions
an aubergine key for a king, majestic;
Ancient idols, outstretched hands hold
lightening, a key of jade.
Which one?
A search, a pilgrimmage, an odyssey:
what land, which key,
What Door?
